Remember These Things If People Around You Are Unsupportive

Some women who have this yearning to pursue professional cheerleading experience rejection or get negative comments from people they care about -- friends and family. This may not be your situation now. Perhaps you’re surrounded by loved ones who encourage you to go for it.

But what if you shared the dream of becoming a professional cheerleader to someone and you were told that you’re crazy? I know that this can be a frustrating experience. But just because you don’t get the support you expect, doesn’t mean you can give up on your goals or continue feeling hurt.

Pro Cheer Life shares four things to remember if you feel the lack of support. Keep reading.

1. Not everyone is supposed to support you.

You can try your best to please the people around you -- but you will only fail. No matter how much you explain why you want to become a pro cheerleader or even if they know you loved dancing since you were little, some won’t get you…. And that’s okay. Everybody will always have an opinion. Right or wrong can be a subjective thing. Why bother to try to change their views?

2. You only live once.

You have one life. So why not live it according to how you envision it? Live life for yourself, for the fulfillment of your goals. If you have the opportunity to chase your pro cheerleading dreams, that time is now. If you don’t live your dreams, you might end up living somebody else’s. This is so unfortunate.

3. Support can be found elsewhere.

When your loved ones cannot offer you the support you need, don’t force it. It will help a lot if you find people who have the same goals or are willing to listen. If you attend dance or fitness classes in preparation for the auditions, take the opportunity to form friendships. If you’re interested, you can join Pro Cheer Life’s private Facebook group -- exclusive for aspiring pro cheerleaders like you. Lastly, learn to be your best supporter!

4. Your energies are best focused on your goals.

Stop tying your self-esteem to what others think of you. Tune into your own needs. What must you do to make your team? Focus on what you want, instead of what you don’t want. Spend the majority of your time and effort in doing the work. Let the results of your hard work do the talking.

Final Thoughts

If you confidently act on your goals, you will eventually care less about others’ expectations and fulfill yours. After all, you were born to manifest your desires. Also, keep in mind that some people don’t want to intentionally destroy your dreams. It’s possible that they just don’t understand or have their own fears and insecurities (which is why they discourage you).
