6 Easy Makeup Touch Up Tricks So You Can Look Fresh and Flawless All Day

Putting on makeup perfectly is already a challenge for women. In fact, it’s more difficult to keep it looking fresh throughout the day, especially when you're auditioning and out doing activities under the sun.

Activities like dancing on a stage and the arena, attending community pro cheer events, and even just sitting on the bleachers cause heavy perspiration. But with every problem comes a solution and that’s what we’re going to discuss here - easy makeup touch-ups to look fresh and professional no matter the time and place.

1. Blot before everything else

Don’t wipe or rub your face while using blotting paper. Instead, dab the shiny areas lightly with the pads and pat a thin layer of translucent powder. This will both conceal the oiliness while still being able to rejuvenate the look of your blush and foundation.

2. Apply a little moisturizer

If you have dry skin and notice that your makeup is starting to cake, flake, or fine lines start to appear, dab a tiny amount of moisturizer on these dry areas. Then, wait for the moisturizer to be fully absorbed. After that, apply a concealer to even out imperfections.

3. Remove all your lipstick

Start with a clean slate by removing all your lipstick. Apply a little foundation on the edges of your lips to eliminate awkward blank areas. This strategy will also make it easier for you to draw your lip’s color because your skin boundaries are more detailed.

4. Use a makeup sponge or foundation brush to smooth everything out

Never use your fingers to touch up and smooth out your foundation and blush. It’s unsanitary and no smoothing out will happen. Add a clean makeup sponge or foundation brush to your kit. It’s more effective in giving specific areas of your face the perfect blend. Just remember to follow a gentle buffing motion to avoid rubbing off your primary layer or all your makeup.

5. Use a rolled tissue to remove the excess liner

Eye moisture and sweat are the major causes of messing your eyeliner messed up during the midday and afternoons. Still, you can remove these awkward messes by rolling a single pad of toilet paper into a needle-like object and patting the mess with the moisturized tip.

Just be careful not to hit your cornea as it will cause you to tear up and worsen the eyeliner smudge. Another strategy for removing eye makeup smudges is to use a moisturized Q-tip. However, this process could affect your other eye makeup because a Q-tip has a bigger point.

6. Spray facial mist for dry skin

For those with dry skin that don’t want to take the risk of messing up a retouch due to applying the wrong moisturizer amount, you can choose to spray facial mist instead. Learn the proper facial mist application and how to buy the right product by watching this YouTube video.

You cannot do a touch-up without your portable kit. So always carry it in your bag wherever you go. Double-check every time you head out and see if it has everything you need. Lastly, keep your entire touch-up kit fresh by noting the expiry dates of your cosmetics. You don’t want to turn a small beauty problem into a major disaster because you used expired makeup.
