9 Makeup Tips for Flawless Looking Skin
During your audition preparation days, you’ll spend most of your time training for fitness and practicing the given choreography by your dream team’s management. Yet, there is one aspect of pro cheerleading that aspirants should never take for granted — flawless makeup application.
Pro cheerleading isn’t just about being athletic and a great dancer. Glamour is also equally important. And the requirement of being able to wear flawless-looking makeup goes beyond the auditions into cheering for your sports team’s home games. In this blog post, discover 9 tips you can use to apply makeup that makes your skin look perfect for audition and game days.
1. Change your makeup routine to fit your skin’s needs
We have that one makeup routine we’re comfortable wearing every day. But our skin and its problems change in time. The night before an audition or game day, examine your face thoroughly and identify what needs focused concealment.
Then, create a new makeup routine that would make your face look glamorously athletic without showing zero signs of problems underneath.
2. Clean and hydrate your skin
On days you need to wear makeup, before you apply anything on your face, make sure it’s fresh, clean, and moisturized. Better yet, do your skincare routine first.
3. Follow up with a primer
A primer preps your face for makeup application by turning it into a smooth canvas. However, its main purpose is to keep everything you apply in place while making it appear luminous or matte.
4. Mix your foundation with a primer
Mixing a primer and foundation is optional but it’s widely followed among women who want to achieve a soft and light glow instead of directly going for a full-coverage foundation application. This is also a tip we highly recommend if you don’t want any well-placed facial birthmarks covered by makeup.
5. Make the most of your concealers
If you want to get that flawless-looking skin that your foundation can’t give, you can use a concealer by applying it sparingly on top. Concealers can be used as a foundation as well. However, we don’t recommend doing that as a concealer applied without a foundation would cause smudging.
6. Use a fan makeup brush for highlighters
Highlighters are a must among those who want to enhance their facial features. But applying it can be tricky. Most do it too much and end up making their face look too shiny. Well, you’re free to wear a shiny highlight. However, if you want a flawless look, light highlighting is the key and a fan makeup brush will help you achieve that.
7. Cover with a setting powder
Now that you’ve concealed what needs to be, smoothen the overall look of your main makeup with a setting powder. Use a brush to evenly apply the powder all over your under-eye, chin, and forehead areas.
8. Apply your bronzer or blush
A pro cheerleader’s flawless-looking skin will never be complete without that “cute” factor. And by that, we mean a blush with a shade and color that’s perfect for your skin tone.
9. Finish with a setting spray
Finally, to make sure that your flawless makeup stays on your face throughout the day without fading or smudging, spray a setting solution to your face 9 inches away using an X and T motion.
Remember, pro cheerleading isn’t just about being fit and a great dancer. It also involves glamour in and outside the arena. As early as today, practice applying that flawless makeup routine in your free time so it becomes easy when you need it in the future.
