Aspiring and Current Pro Cheerleaders: How to Empower Yourself As A Woman

Empowerment is one of the most important things women must have. It’s even more important if we have dreams to pursue and goals to achieve such as joining a pro cheer team and maintaining a position in the squad.

Without empowerment, achieving your pro cheer goals will be hard. Why? Because a few words from naysayers will discourage you from working hard on your fitness routine. A lack of self-identity will throw you off course in the journey of becoming a pro cheerleader. Even worse, you’ll be scared to take action in reaching your ambitions.

Study what it takes to earn respect in the field. Muster up the courage to take risks even if the future is uncertain. Read the tips below.

1. Seize opportunities to learn

Aiming to be a pro cheerleader is already an opportunity to learn a lot of things. You’ll learn how to dance, apply eye makeup, and explore a lot of dieting methods. As you prepare for the auditions or stay in the squad you’ll also trade secrets with other pro cheerleaders and auditionees.

So keep on learning, because the more you know, the wiser of a woman you become.

2. Think positive and empowering thoughts

No matter what you do, you’ll always have a lot of naysayers. Some will say you’re not capable of following a strict fitness regime. Just ignore them, believe in yourself, follow your workout and diet plan.

If there’s a dance you can’t perform, challenge yourself. Practice the mantra of saying, “I can do this because there’s nothing a pro cheerleader cannot do.”

3. Know yourself

A woman will only be weak if she doesn’t know herself. Always take time to reassure yourself of who you are and your worth. Don’t let anyone undervalue your existence and efforts. Be paid fairly as a hardworking current pro cheerleader.

Be treated with respect as a kind woman in and out of the squad.

4. Know what you want

Similar to knowing yourself, identifying your goals and ambitions will solidify your identity as a woman and pro cheerleader. Because if you know what you want, you will act in ways that will lead you to achieve your dreams.

For example, if you’re an aspiring pro cheerleader, you will empower yourself to strive hard in your diet, exercise, and other audition preparations.

5. Be independent

Don’t rely too much on others for help in your struggles. Plan and execute your strategies to get what you want.

Need money? Work extra hours on honest jobs. Need to be fit? Wake up early on your own every morning to workout. Want to be beautiful? Follow daily skincare and haircare routines at home. Want to be a confident speaker? Read this, learn from online courses, or go to school.

6. Take risks

Powerful women made change happen even if achieving their idea of change had a 50-50 chance of success. Take Hillary Clinton and Margaret Thatcher for an example. Running in politics - a world that was usually dominated by men.

But they studied, worked hard, believed in their own selves, practiced confidence, and spoke their mind. Now, they will go down in history as one of the famous women that changed the world.

You should follow their examples. Even if you’re not sure you’ll pass the auditions or even if the odds are stacked against you, learn and take a gamble. Go all out or go bust. Courage is a huge part of being empowered.

7. Master self-care

As mentioned in #3, being empowered means you know your worth as a person. That also means that you should take care of yourself. Rest when you’re tired, say no when you’re uncomfortable, and put your needs first before anyone and anything else.

The thought of being an empowered woman is relatively easy. Know your worth, put yourself first, and do everything you want with dedication, confidence, and happiness. Don’t let anyone bully you for being different and don’t allow anyone to stop you from achieving your dreams!
