Waking up at 5:00 Am (And What It Has to Do with Your Pro Cheer Goals)

Would you believe that being an early riser can actually change your life - specifically make your dream to become a professional cheerleader come true? The most successful people wake up at 5 in the morning. The principles they apply can be used by anyone who wants to turn their goals into reality.

In this article, let’s explore the benefits of waking up at 5 AM. I encourage you to give it a try and see how your days change.

What Waking up at 5 AM Does to Your Pro Cheer Goals

1. Experience an amazing start.

Getting out of bed and rushing to school or work isn’t great at all. Once you wake up, the day starts to suck the life out of you. Stop frantically getting dressed and taking the daily commute like a zombie. Waking up before the rest of the world does is amazing because it gives you a longer pause, more time to relax and really hone in on your goals - whether it’s improving your fitness or building up your self-confidence.

2. Consistency in your workouts.

Energy is a huge factor in motivating you to exercise each day before the tryouts. Between exercising after your body has rested for 6 hours and exercising after a long day at work, the former is more sustainable. When you are tired, you’re more likely to procrastinate. Even 30 minutes of jogging, jumping jacks, and some bodyweight exercises as you wake up at 5 AM do wonders to your body. Consistency is the way to get results.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast.

Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. It’s the first meal you take after hours of fasting (while you’re asleep) and now, you need to fill your body with the right stuff. This gets you through the day feeling great and looking great. A healthy breakfast can can comprise of a protein smoothie, avocados with egg, and quinoa pancakes - any food that supports your energy and weight loss goals. Preparing a healthy breakfast is only possible if you wake up early.

4. Practice positive visualization.

To create a purposeful and productive day where you get to do all that you need to in relation to pro cheer preparation, you need time for positive visualization. Previously, we tackled visualization. In that blog post, I mentioned how visualization had given athletes a boost in their performance and that it can do the same to you. As you wake up at 5 AM and before you head outside for a workout, pause for a few minutes to create a mental picture of you succeeding and becoming the professional cheerleader you’ve always dreamed to be.

5. Plan your day.

When you’re always rushing in the morning, it’s impossible to plan ahead. Because of this failure to plan, you forget to prioritize what’s important. You don’t set a clear path and take everything that the day throws at you. By strategically planning the times you allot for your pro cheer workouts, meditation, and more, you’re able to track your progress!
