6 Ways to Emotionally Declutter and Have Better Focus to Achieve Your Pro Cheer Goals

Each of us carries an emotional load in our daily lives. Some have them light while others bear highly exhausting weights. A good example of emotional baggage is doubting your audition efforts due to being in the company of naysayers. And this negative energy creates internal fatigue to the point at which we give up.

Unfortunately, we often don’t pay attention to the early signs of emotional baggage until it’s too late. This is a problem that aspiring and current pro cheerleaders may face. Do you often find yourself questioning your choice to audition for a pro cheer team or of being a pro cheerleader? You might be carrying a lot of emotional burdens that need to be addressed.

Follow these emotion-decluttering tips to welcome positive energy within yourself. Then use this energy to fuel your drive in achieving personal growth and reaching your goals.

1. Identify the negative emotions you feel

Be honest about the feelings that hinder you from completing your pro cheer tasks. Prevent yourself from ignoring them as well. This is the first step to declutter your emotions. Nowadays, it’s easy to get distracted when dealing with the most important things in our lives.

2. Know what triggers the negativity

The next step is to identify the cause of your negative emotions. Negativity comes from a variety of sources. For example, social media often makes us think less of ourselves. By increasing your awareness of how things around you impact your life, you’ll be able to set boundaries to protect your mind and heart from such negative influences.

3. Picture how you want your life to look

Thinking about your ideal life is one of the best ways to empower yourself. So imagine what life as a pro cheerleader would be for you or how you want it to be. This will motivate you in creating a solid step-by-step plan on how to realize that dream.

4. Spend less time with people who hinder your pro cheer dream

Are you in a relationship with people who slow your pro cheer progress down? There are a lot of ways you can deal with them. Two examples are limiting your time hanging out with these social circles and keeping your goals a secret. Even turning a deaf ear to their naysaying is also a huge help to keep you focused on your journey. As long as your dream doesn’t hurt anyone, don’t be afraid to stand up for it.

5. Get support from those who genuinely care for you

Keep in mind that there are others who support you in your dreams and you can find them almost everywhere. What you need to do is to muster the courage to ask for help. 6. Create new habits that help you win over negative emotions and reactions

We all have our unique ways to deal with negativity. The sad part of it is most of us react in self-destructive behaviors. Instead of decluttering emotionally, these patterns would even add more problems to the ones we already have.

Common self-destructive behaviors caused by negative emotions are stress-eating and sleeping late to binge-watch Netflix. Yet, these methods of dealing with emotional distress can be replaced with healthier ways such as yoga, deep breathing exercises, or listening to calm music.

We understand that staying positive can be challenging especially when you’re juggling multiple responsibilities at home, work, stage, and in the arena. This is why we highly suggest you make a habit of pausing, taking deep breaths, and clearing your mind whenever you feel overwhelmed.
