How to Reach Your Pro Cheer Goals Without Stressing Yourself Out

Goals matter in your journey of preparing for a pro cheer audition. Such goals can include losing more fat, building muscle and strength, conquering stage fright, and many others. And while goals are important, they can also be a source of stress and overload.

Even when you're typing at work or sitting in class, your mind can be busy worrying about the things you need to get done to nail the upcoming audition. 

The good news is that there are ways to reach your goals that don't involve piling more stress. Read on to find out.

Never get too rigid with anything. 

I'm not saying that you should abandon your goals entirely. What I'm implying is that you must learn to accept the reality that anything can happen along the way. You had an emergency task that kept you from showing up at the gym. You got stuck in traffic. You felt too sick to practice. Give yourself permission to take detours when necessary. If you always keep in mind that life can get in the way, you won't be as stressed when an actual obstacle appears. 

Do not multi-task!

Whenever you are trying to accommodate different ideas at once, you become less productive and efficient. For instance, taking down notes about your dream team while checking social media. Every step that you take to reach your goal deserves your full attention. If you focus on what you're doing for the audition, you'll be able to think clearly and get the most out of a task.

Pick just one thing to do today.

Imagine that you've jumped off a plane, and you're allowed to pick just one parachute. Now ask yourself, would you waste time picking the best parachute or would you simply grab one? I think you'd grab one right away to save your life. Aim to keep things simple by picking one task to do and get it done. Remember: That one thing is one small but concrete, essential step to reaching a bigger goal.
